President, The Eufaula Agency
Bob Powers has been President and co-owner of The Eufaula Agency, an insurance and real estate agency, since 1981. He maintains his professional designations and status in both real estate and insurance. He is in his fourth term on the Eufaula City Council, currently serving as City Council President. Bob is active in numerous community, regional, and state organizations including: Eufaula/Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Greater Barbour County, Business Council of Alabama (BCA), Alabama School Readiness Alliance (ASRA), and Economic Development Partnership of Alabama Foundation. He has been a member of Alabama Power Company’s board of directors since January 1992. He chairs the Alabama Power Company Nuclear Committee and serves on Southern Nuclear Company’s Nuclear Oversight Committee.
Bob has been instrumental in organizing or expanding numerous organizations such as the Alabama Technology Network, Clearing House/Family Service Center of Barbour County, and Alabama Character Council. He is an advocate for proven education and workforce initiatives, including early childhood investments such as high-quality Pre-K. He is co-chair of the ASRA Task Force effort to fund high-quality voluntary Pre-K for all of Alabama’s four-year old children.
His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point; a Master of Business Administration degree from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago; professional designations from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.; and is a graduate of The Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
