Alabama Launchpad promotes and rewards high-growth, innovative start-ups from across Alabama. The program is for new, innovative ventures in the seed or early-growth stages, or for existing businesses moving into a new high-growth market. Participants have unique opportunities to access sound business advice and critical start-up capital. Alabama Launchpad gives early-stage start-ups momentum to take an idea from concept to reality.
The proof of commercial relevance competition is for start-ups that need additional proof-of-concept work. Start-ups will compete for multiple proof-of-concept grants from $20,000 to $25,000 each. In total, up to $100,000 in cash awards are available for participants.

Using ReviewRoom teams must complete/submit the following items: Application, Business Model Canvas, 3 Minute Pitch Video, Proof of Concept Budget Proposal, Slide Deck (10 slide max). To download the required file templates, please visit the Application Page
After the application period has closed, a judging panel comprised of five individuals representing the investment/angel community, entrepreneurs, and corporate stakeholders will review the application and supplemental materials. The panel may solicit additional information prior to choosing the 2013 participants. A max of 25 start-ups will be chosen.
Each team accepted into the competition will be provided a mentor to be a resource throughout the competition.
Using the business plan template provided on the Application Page teams will submit through ReviewRoom a business plan and pitch presentation. Each team will present their pitch at a judged live event.
Teams that advance following the pitch presentation will submit a revised business plan for a market assessment by a third party (vendor to announced). Start-ups with a favorable market assessment will then be invited to present for the finale round.
Teams invited to participate in the finale event will submit a final version of their business plan and pitch presentation using ReviewRoom. Finalists will present their final pitch at our finale event where winners will be announced.
