Alabama Launchpad's New Start-Up Village to Shine the Spotlight on Entrepreneurs
We are two weeks away from our Third Annual Alabama Launchpad Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference.
A lot of hard work by our Launchpad team is being done in preparation for this big event, the only one of its kind in the state.
As we countdown until the conference’s start on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham-The Wynfrey Hotel, we wanted to highlight several additions that we believe will be beneficial in our goals of celebrating Alabama’s job creation successes and helping startups and entrepreneurs advance to the next level.
At this year’s conference, we have a Start-Up Village, which will shine a bright light on some of the most innovative new companies in the state. Participants will demonstrate their product, service or app.
The startups will be showcased on Friday, Sept. 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. during a networking break.

We understand how important it is for startups and entrepreneurs to expand their networks because when it comes to starting in a business, though what you know is great, who you know might just be even more important.
“We are offering the Start-Up village to meet the demand for exposure that startups crave to meet potential investors and potential customers,” said Greg Sheek, Launchpad Programs director. “We also believe there is strong value in getting entrepreneurs together to learn from one another and explore new partnerships either formally or informally as peer to peer. Spontaneity and serendipity are key elements of a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. We are creating a mini mobile version of the collaboration that startups experience and thrive on in incubators. In our case, we are giving entrepreneurs from across the state the chance to meet and mingle with one another as well as a broader statewide audience.”
So, if you are an entrepreneur, a start-up, an investor or just someone curious about this fascinating ecosystem, then our Start-Up Village is the place for you!
